Delta-9 THC is the most recognized and talked about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Just like other cannabinoids, delta-11 also interacts with the acutely expressed <em>endocannabinoid system (ECS)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The ECS is the network of receptors dotted all over the body that <a href=\"\/delta-8\/delta-11-vs-delta-9-get-the-main-difference-in-2023\/\">delta-11<\/a> uses as a means of transmission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Once in direct contact with the central nervous system (CNS), delta-11 can synchronize tasks in the body, such as signaling brain neurotransmitters regarding pain and mood, immune system responses, and inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its growing popularity, there is little data on delta-11 THC, and more research must be done to determine its exact effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--[https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/bph.16025](update-me)-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Delta-11_THC_vs_Delta-9_THC\"><\/span><strong>Delta-11 THC vs Delta-9 THC<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Delta-9 THC is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. It is best known for the characteristic high it produces when consumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Both delta-9 and delta-11 THC molecules differ only in one carbon atom. Delta-9 THC has double bonds on the ninth carbon atom of the molecule, while delta-11 THC has double bonds on the eleventh carbon atom of the molecule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Is_Delta-11_THC_Made\"><\/span><strong>How Is Delta-11 THC Made?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Delta-9 and delta-11 THC cannot be consumed directly from the cannabis plant as they are in an acid form. While cannabis plant strains D-Limonene, SOUR, and Raspberry Coffeecake develop a lot of delta-11 THC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>These natural sources, particularly the strains that are D-Limonene dominant, have powerful smells with citrusy, earthy floral aromas that arise from their sativa-like genetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>These Delta-11 THC dominant strains, all odoriferous hybrids produced for fueling and energizing the body, are also specific for treating symptoms of stress, depression, and musculoskeletal pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Defining Delta-11 THC is relatively easy, but synthesizing it from other forms of THC is much more challenging. Chemically, adding an acid or base to any type of THC can convert it into delta-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Delta-11_THC_Legal\"><\/span><strong>Is Delta-11 THC Legal?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"\/cannabidiol\/delta-8-thc-studies\/\">legal situation around delta-11 THC<\/a> is unclear. In 36 states, medical marijuana is legal and available under certain specifications, while recreational use is approved in 18 states and some jurisdictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>However, there is little buzz about delta-11 THC. Laws regarding delta-11 THC are likely to evolve if it becomes more popular and is seen as a threat to public health or safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Does_Delta-11_THC_Do\"><\/span><strong>What Does Delta-11 THC Do?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The research on delta-11 THC is limited, but it appears to have some similar effects to another type of THC. Delta-11 THC and delta-9 THC appear to show the same basic pharmacological effects and the same therapeutic value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>It in particular can produce feelings of euphoria, relaxation, and pain relief. It can also cause impairment, sedation, hallucinations, and memory loss in high doses.
